There are degrees of lateness, after all, and not all lateness is created equal. Does one minute late even count as being late? I would hazard to call that "on time." Even in a work setting. Work is probably the thing that we want to be the most on time for, and our managers want that too. They say that time is money, so lateness ultimately affects the bottom line. But we're also all humans, and we can't be expected to stay at a job forever if every time we're one minute late, we're written up. Pettiness has no room in adult life, and it should be called out when it comes up, especially from our bosses. We all need to treat each other like the adults that we are and give each other the respect we deserve. That's not what happened here, though, where an employee was written up for being one minute late to work. They didn't think they deserved that kind of treatment, so they reached out to the internet to see what others would do in their shoes. Keep reading for the details.
